About Us
CROSSFIT MIRAMAR
CrossFit Miramar is a non-profit, CrossFit military affiliate dedicated to improving the overall fitness level of the Marines, Sailors, and other DoD members at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California. To accomplish this, CrossFit Miramar seeks to increase each athlete’s general physical preparedness through the use of constantly varied functional movements executed at high intensity. There are three steps in this development:
1) Mechanics: Each athlete will learn how to perform each movement / exercise correctly.
2) Consistency: Each athlete must be able to perform the movements using the proper technique consistently over a number of repetitions.
3) Intensity: Once each athlete has demonstrated the ability to consistently perform the movements using proper technique, the intensity is then increased to elicit the best results.
Using this formula, CrossFit Miramar’s goal is to increase both the physical and mental fitness levels of its athletes in order to allow them to be better prepared for the rigors of daily training, combat, and, ultimately, life.

What is CrossFit?
Simply stated, CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements executed at high intensity. It is not a workout, a day, or an event. It is a general physical preparedness program. The results are seen through its application over a period of time. The goal of CrossFit is to increase work capacity across broad time, modal, and age domains. The specialty of CrossFit is that there is no specialization. It is a broad, general, and inclusive program that is designed to fit you. By combining the regular physical training with a properly proportioned diet, you will exceed what you thought was possible through diet and exercise.
Try it for sixty days, following either this site or the main site. If you are not convinced of its efficacy and efficiency at the end of sixty days, return to your normal routine. But I bet you’ll still be doing CrossFit!!
